The photo of Jackal shown on the TV news

The guy who picks up "Per Lundquist" at the sauna says he has seen his photo on the TV news bulletin. But there are no photos of Jackal as Per Lundquist. Do we assume the photo from the Duggan passport was shown, and the sauna guy just recognised him anyway?

I don't understand why they showed the passport photo of Lundquist on the TV.

They had the photo from the Jackal's false passport application.

Why not use that?

'Showing a picture of a blond man without glasses, when you're looking for a dark haired man with glasses, is a little pointless.'

I don't agree.

Showing a picture of a man with the same face but different colour hair makes far more sense than showing a picture of a man with the same colour hair but a different face.

When Per Lundquist's face is shown on the rental shop's TV screens, we don't see his image; we only see Jules' startled face. There could be two identifying factors at work: 1) the assassin did a very good job at mimicking Lundquist - a man he'd targeted because they resembled each other to begin with - and 2) when Per Lundquist's passport photo was shown on TV, his name might very well have been captioned along with it.

Personally, I don't know why the police wouldn't have shown BOTH photos, side-by-side: Lundquist's AND the assassin's (whatever his real name was).
