Plot flaw

Dropping the guns from the bridge after the police questioned Varrick & Harman, just before the explosion. Did not look deep enough or indeed a current to move the guns. Varrick would have not taken this chance.

Yup, and he didn't even toss them downriver a ways. Even if the cops didn't drag the stream bed at the first water crossing from the exploded getaway car, some kid fishing off the bridge might well have snagged one.

I thought same for a brief moment but then realized that unless the cop who sped off was watching over his shoulder (or in his side/rear view mirrors), he would have had no reason to look down to the bottom of that stream - as far as the cop knew, it was 'coincidental' that Charlie pulled over where he did on that bridge.

I couldn't figure out why he used black powder to blow up the car. If he could buy black powder he could have bought underwater fireworks fuse which is wind/water proof and MUCH more reliable. If the black powder was used as an explosive, then that scene was way off...black powder only explodes when enclosed - otherwise it just flames out. I guess that doesn't matter much since the average person wouldn't know this. Funny that 'Harman'
claimed to have plenty of experience with it in 'Nam. Nope.
