I saw "Breezy" at the Walter Reade today. Although it is sappy and dated at times, it holds up pretty well and is certainly better (and more intelligent) than most romances made today. In addition, it was a great print of the movie. This surprised me, since it wasn't a hit and most people have never heard of the movie.

And there was another surprise at the screening. I saw three of the people featured in the documentary, "Cinemania." Two were in the screening, the third was on the way in as I walked out. Very funny, if you've seen that movie!

I first saw this movie when it appeared on television back in 1976/1977. I was a young teenager, I watched this movie in the back family room (on the 12 inch black and white - with the knob dial to switch channels.) I remember me and my 12 year old sister watched it. We both knew WH from his appearance on "I Love Lucy" and the Dean Martin Show. We knew who Kay Lenz was because she was dating/married David Cassidy. I absolutely loved it when I was 14/15. I thought Holden looked a lot older but still thought he had his looks. It would come on again and we watched and then that's it. Never saw it again until this past March on the Encore Love channel. It was such a blast from the past. I told my sister about it and she didn't remember it. Unfortunately some of her childhood memory were lost to a brain injury some years back. She is and looks OK, but definitely suffered some damage in a fall. So I watched with joy the show. Of course it was dated, Holden's been dead almost 27 years. Kay is now the age of Holden when he filmed Breezy. But it was such fun! Some of the lines are great; the dialogue between them in the car was so much fun. I am glad more people are now seeing this little gem after all these years. I hope Clint is too!
