mid-life crisis

This struck me as a typical male fantasy, which Hollywood can't seem to get its fill of. There are so many middle aged or older male writers and/or directors who love to picture sexy, fun-loving girls falling in love with them.
Holden was actually old enough to be this actress' father in this, and LOOKED old enough to be her GRANDfather. Clint Eastwood was 43 at the time, the classic age for a mid-life crisis, when men often feel all the things we heard in the steam room scene. Obviously Eastwood has a thing for women young enough to be his daughter or grand-daughter. He has linked up with one woman 17 years younger and another 35 years younger, e.g.
If you're rich and/or famous of course you can get away with this, but in general it is very unusual, because most normal young people do not get turned on by old people. I know there are women who will post that they have a great relationship with someone the age of their father, but come on...how many regular couples do you see like that?
If there were more women writer/directors, I wonder if we'd see an equal number of mid-life crisis story-lines of their fantasy of success with a guy young enough to be their son or grandson.

A ton of older women really go for the youthful male since they are usually ok moneywise in their older age to survive on a college student relationship. The reverse is true (as in this movie) but seen less often, especially now.

How many 40s and older single men reading this would walk away from the opportunity afforded Will Holden's character? I fall in that age group and if the opportunity came along, I won't say I would turn it down.

I'm not sexist so I'll ask the ladies the same question regarding younger men.
Yes or no??

Holden's character was past the middle of his and he fell in love with her, so no, it wasn't a mid-lie crisis.
