What Was Wrong With His Overnight Guest Before He Meets Breezy?

She gives him her number, and he tosses it in the trash before she's out of sight.

She was beautiful and younger than he was and seemed nice enough, perhaps a little too desperate. Still, he hadn't met Breezy yet.

Soy 'un hijo de la playa'

she resembles a lot his ex wife, not in face but in style, social class, ecc ecc

I thought she was a pro (call girl) and Holden had come to feel kind of pathetic for having been so desperate to have rented her. i.e., Buyer's Remorse

I know that the idea of (desperate middle-aged men) "paying for it" came up at least once in Holden's one-on-one chats with his friend Roger C. Carmel.

Not a call girl. She spoke of the shame when leaving a man's place in the next morning. Yeah, she did resemble his wife.

Though we can't be sure, I got the sense she was all shell, no substance - makeup, hair, clothes, but no personality.

She's meant to be a contrast with Breezy, who's (albeit Hollywood gorgeous) natural, but bursting with life and love.
