This must be a canon goof for the year anyways.

Star Trek Q wikipedia says, At the beginning of the episode, Icheb is reading to Janeway his report about James T. Kirk. During the report, Icheb mentions events in Kirk's command career that took place in 2270. This year correlates with established continuity.

No matter how you look at it Captain James T. Kirk 5 year mission was completed in Star Trek TOS and Star Trek TAS is Captain James T. Kirk 5 year mission

As for the Star Trek TAS year who knows when it took place because it has a different refit compared to Star Trek The Motion Picture Enterprise

Listed below is the http://startrekfan.wetpaint.com/page/USS+Enterprise+(NCC-1701-Refit)internet address to Star Trek The Motion Picture Enterprise

Star Trek The Animated Series Refit

Second Exit Bridge

second turbolift is installed on the bridge, next to the main viewscreen

The bridge stations are rounded, and form a perfect circle, instead of the hexagonal TOS bridge set

The access stairs to the upper level engineering deck (seen in TOS seasons 2 and 3) are gone

In your opinon how is the Star Trek The Motion Picture Enterprise different than Star Trek The Animated Series?

reply

Not that I wouldn't put anything past Braga when it comes to continuity, Drone Boy clearly says 2270.
