How would you animate Star Trek?

As a follow up to the "How would you reboot Star Trek?" post from the Star Trek 11 and 12 message boards, I'm not simply asking if you would use CG, anime or whatever, but also asking what style or inspiration, if any, would you use to animate Star Trek? Robotech or Akira, Justice League or Invasion America, Beast Wars or Mass Effect, Heavy Metal or Disney, Robot Chicken or How It Should Have Ended, or do you have your own style you want to use? Mind you there are no wrong answers, even a motion comic using the style of Ensign Sue Must Die is okay.

And since this is animated, what about the violence? Will there be fatalities? And if so, will they be on screen, off screen, or in the shadows? If someone gets hit in the jaw or shot by a phaser/disruptor, will there be blood?

And now the tough question, where will it stand on canon? Will it be a part of either canon? Will it follow and not interfere with the canon the same way the novels do? Will it have a "parallel canon" like the way Ghostbusters was done? Starts the same, then takes off on its own. Or will it be a complete reboot? Which brings us back to the post as how would you reboot Star Trek?

I would rather see 2D animation

The never airred Star Trek syndication animated TV series would of most likely been considered canon because Gene Roddenberry and Parmount who was the owner of The Star Trek copyright at that time seem no problem with it.

At one time CBS was considering animated Star Trek webisodes

The Screenwriters of J.J. Abrams Star Trek want animated Star Trek series

The main point is it will be canon as long as CBS has no problem with any new Star Trek animated series

Star Trek 1966-1969 and Star Trek 1973-1974 had the same name at that time.

As for a reboot they should have a 5 year mission in the alternate timeline that was created with the death of Spock with Commander Thelin as
Captain James T. Kirk first officer

If it is canon it ewould, of course, be canon in the alternate timeline.

Life is constant annoyances punctuated by periods of misery.

So how YOU doin'?
