Vinnie's, the cop bar run by Scott Brady

With no regulars in Police Story, the cop bar known as Vinnie's provides a familiar, comforting surrounding for the guest star cops as well as the viewers. Scotty Brady is ideal as the hangout's ideal bartender, sporadically appearing in 16 episodes over the 5 seasons.
Purportedly a retired cop and fan of Notre Dame (as he's sometimes sporting a sweater or baseball cap with the school's iconic ND insignia), the bulky Vinnie -- as crafted by Brady -- displays and conveys a strong, wise and jovial presence. He knows what his customers' work entails, the good and the bad. He is a friend, a mentor, but never a pushover. Occasionally he's the butt of the younger officers' quips about his age.
In the majority of the episodes he doesn't appear, but when someone mentions Vinnie's we faithful Police Story viewers feel a bit as an insider because we know exactly what Vinnie's is and who Vinnie is.
That's one of the nice things that stands out while watching SHOUT Factory's Season One set -- that I don't see commented on in previous posts.
The handwriting on the wall indicates that we will never see Seasons 2 - 5 on Shout or SONY DVDs. I wish it weren't so.
