It was Didi Carr. Johnny Olson announced at the beginning that she was the star of the new television series "Sugar Time". It lasted all of 13 episodes.

Yes, it was indeed Didi Carr. And she was witty and striking. A shame she didn't appear in more shows, productions, etc.

I seriously think that the OP was referring to Didi Carr who did a few episodes in 1978. Didi Conn is adorable, but in a cute, cuddly way, I don't know if most people would describe her as gorgeous. She kind of had a younger, hipper, Joyce Bulifant thing going on.
