Love that owl!

Anybody notice that the show features a stunning exotic owl? In the opening that plays for the second half of the season, the owl is shown when the camera zooms in on Tony's room at the Magic Castle. He shows a deck of cards and then wipes his hand across the face of the deck and the card magically changes. In that shot, before the camera zooms in on the cards, the owl is right behind Tony towards the right of the TV screen. You don't spot him because he remains motionless. Several of the shows also feature the owl during the episode, but he often remains motionless and so you don't notice him easily. I think more than one owl was used, but at least one of them had leopard like spots. He's stunning! What kind of owl is that? Could a person have one as a pet, as shown? Why does he tend to remain motionless?
