Can someone help me? I have missed the latter series and was just wondering how they wrote her character, Edie out of the show. Did she die or leave somehow or has it even happened yet?

From what I've seen they never really dealt with it; she's just not there. I think they did the same thing with Wesley; I could be wrong and just have missed the episode where it was dealt with.

Unfortunately, yes he is gone, according to imdb he died in 2002.

She was never properly wrote out the show. She just wasn't there or mentioned. Except for once. In one episode in the last series Barry mentioned going to visit Glenda's mother or calling her or something and Glenda reminded him they can't, and just nodded and went oh yeah or something and that was it. It wasn't actually said she'd died. I guess it was their way of acknowledging it in the series without putting it on too much of a downer.
