First couple of series...
aren't bad. Been watching them on UKTV Drama, strangely enough, and find them to be alright. They say shows usually better with age, but I disagree with this case, as all the more recent series have rehashes of old jokes, Thora Hird with her awkward comic timing and general naffness. But back in the mid 70s, it was funny. One reviewer on Amazon read that in these early series, the characters were unlikeable, and I actually find that a good quality
