Are the original 3 all dead now?

I know Compo is but what about the other first two?

I know one of them is (he died a few years after the show started) To the best of my knowledge Peter Sallis (Cleggy) is still living

Yes Peter Sallis is still alive. At the moment he is working on the Wallace & Gromit film, doing the voice of Wallace.

The "original" three were Michael Bates, Bill Owen and Peter Sallis of whom only the latter remains alive and still in the series. Michael Bates was only in the series a couple of years and was replaced by Brian Wilde who is also still alive.

Since the posting above, Brian Wilde has also died, as has Michael Aldridge.
