who plays which character???

need a little help here people!!! i just had the pleasure of watching some episodes of LOTSW on my local pbs station as they just started showing them again recently-it looks like the episodes i've gotten to watch are in the 1990-91 range. so my question is, who plays which character?...do i have this correct?...
briane wilde...the shortest/oldest looking of the trio, the one who's always
short on cash?
bill owen...the youngest looking of the trio?
peter sallis...the tallest of the trio who walks with a cane i believe and was in
the british military at some point?
kathy staff...is she the one that briane wilde's character was always chasing
around?
which character(and real name) was the shopkeeper that the guys always popped in
for some tea?
who was the pair(characters and real names)that always seemed to be running around
together? i believe an episode i just saw they had binoculars and
were birdwatching...she was waiting for him to make a move but he
kept birdwatching?
thanks for any help!!!

The answers are:

Bill Owen, who died in 1999, was the oldest of the trio. He played the scruffy, disreputable Compo, who always chased after redoubtable battleaxe Nora Batty. Nora was played by Kathy Staff, who died in 2008.

Peter Sallis, born in 1921, plays the quiet, philosophical Clegg. He is the longest-serving member of the cast, having appeared in the very first episode in 1973 and every episode since.

Brian Wilde, who died in 2008, played the second but best-known third man, Foggy Dewhurst. Foggy was an ex-army man who always planned the trio's antics with military precision.

The cafe was run by the warring couple Sid (John Comer) and Ivy (Jane Freeman). John Comer died in 1984 and Sid died off-screen. Ivy now runs the cafe on her own.

The couple always caught in awkward places are Howard (Robert Fyffe) and Marina (Jean Fergusson). Howard is actually married to battleaxe Pearl (Juliette Kaplan) and Marina is his fancy woman!

Hope this helps!
