Frozen Turkey Man

I've been buying the UK dvd sets and watching the series again. I've watched many of the episodes again. Frozen Turkey Man has got to be the best episode for me. It's packed with great dialogue and so many great scenes. Even the subtle little joke at the beginning with Compo popping up in different parts of the bushes is very well done. It's the first episode in the series 7 & 8 set which is also probably my favorite set overall.

A lot of my favorites tend to be from the later Foggy years, since that's when I first started seeing the show on American pubic TV. The Space Ace, with the man who goes down hills in wheelie bins to simulate going into outer space, is a particular favorite, as is the episode in which Howard claims his house as "stoneworm" to cover up one of his plots. On the other hand, I've since seen the earlier Blamire episodes and two of those, Inventor of the Forty Foot Ferret (when Compo goes to church) and The Changing Face of Rural Blamire are also favorites. I like the rambling, contemplative aspect of the earlier, more dialogue-driven episodes. I also like many of the newer ones, but the more supporting characters came on, the less time there gradually was for each character.

'Irregardless' is not a word
