We all know that Kojak's first name was Theo, Crocker's first name was Bobby, Captain McNeil's first name was Frank and Weaver's first name was Gil, but does anyone know Stavros, Saperstein and Rizzo's first names?
shareAlthough I don't know Saperstein and Rizzo's first name, George Savalas' charcter full name and rank was Detective Sargeant Demosthenes Stavros, his first name was mentioned several times-mostly by Kojak throughout the series' run. In particular Season 3, Justice Deferred has a great scene when a elderly lady walks in the precinct asking to see Demosthenes Stavros a few scenes after Theo calls Stavros to his office by using his first name as well.
I can't recall ever hearing Saperstein, Rizzo or Gomez first name being used and I am a fan of the series since its original airing years
Clarifying first names, Theo was short for Theodapoulis, Frank was really Francis and Bobby was Robert, all of these used several times over the years
Very good.....to the best of my knowledge Gomez never had his first name mentioned. I believe Saperstein's first name was mentioned twice. The first time Crocker mentions it while explaining to Kojak that "Mark and I followed him and he never made a switch" after Saperstein and Crocker had a guy under surveillance. The second time is in the episode where two Psychology students torment a witness to a murder. A warrant is secured for one of the suspects homes and the suspects attorney gives the father of the suspect instructions to only allow the police to access certain areas of the property. Kojak says "Get Mark and Gino on it" and Stavros yells "Saperstein, Rizzo get over here"
Do you have any info on Vince Conti, such as is he still alive or are there any good Kojak era photos of Vince Conti as Rizzo? He was my favorite.
