Was Kojak of Polish descent?
i am curiuos if his ethnic heritage was ever revealed.

Kojack's Greek heritage is revealed in more than several episodes. He also speaks Greek to a character in Season 2. The episode entails a young boy who reports his father missing to the police, and is cared for by a housekeeper; a Greek woman. Kojak communicates with the housekeeper in Greek.
Incidentally, when Telly started school, as a child, he didn't speak English, though he was born in the US.

In the trivia section it says the name Kojak is Polish, but the character was changed to be Greek because Savalas was Greek
