Oh My,
At the start B&W cinematography with not enough contast, overBEARING accents
( I have lived in the South for 30 yrs, ) etc etc...than I shut up my head and WATCHED/HEARD it.
Nuff said.

I thought it was fantastic. But hard to watch for that very reason. I found my way to it because of a track called Fentry, by Grandaddy. Beautiful band, beautiful songs, beautifully made film.

same. i love grandaddy's "fentry" and guessed that the sample was from billy-bob thornton's test version of "slingblade".

just as happy to find that it was duvall instead.

Yeah, I haven't yet seen anything Duvall's done that wasn't impressive.

Yep, that where's Billy Bob got it from, and he had his coach right handy as Duvall played his Pa in Slingblade.
