There's a good DVD from Media Blaster's Shriek Show label. It has the option of Italian audio with english subtitles and the English audio dub and several extras. The transfer is great, 2.35-1 anamorphic widescreen. The Italian track is the best way to go with a better musical score and more precise dubbing. The English track is servicable too though, and perfectly audible, only for some reason it misses out on many of the musical cues and the music is much louder and richer in the Italian dub. The disc's been out for a while and it's quite cheap now.

Is the dvd you refer to as pictured in the yellow cover Reg 1 DVD(shriek show)?
The IMDB listing for the films run time is 94mins Italian vers. is this dvd cut as its only 88min eng.vers. ?
The product details at Amazon do not list an Subtitles or Italian lang.options only Eng.lang. Is this wrong and it has Italian lang. and sub. option, or is this a diff.version ?
That's the one. I've seen the film in several versions up through the years on VHS and DVD and the Shriek Show DVD is definitely uncut. In fact I've never seen a cut version of the film. The English version and the Italian version are identical. It's only the dubbing that differs between the two.
The Shriek Show DVD has both the English dub and the Italian dub so yes the Amazon listings are wrong. I'm looking at the DVD now and the running time listed on the DVD is 91 mins. Both IMDb and Amazon listings are very often wrong.

No, no 94 minutes version. About the VHS entitled "Day of the Maniac" I don't know for sure, but as I mentioned I don't think the film was ever cut in the US.

Fedorevsky is wrong, the shriek show R1 dvd is in fact 94 minutes and 54 seconds. I'm playing my DVD right now and it comfirms this.
