Question about the 3 wishes figurine story... SPOILER ALERT!!!

OK, maybe the third story in of the 5.

A question about the story featuring the woman and man who were having to sell everything, and had money issues, and they had the 3 wishes figurine.

The woman wished for a lot of money, then the man got killed in a car accident, so she got her wish because she got the insurance money.

So she wished him back as he was IMMEDIATELY before the accident. Then he was still dead, as he had had a heart attack at the wheel, so immediately before the accident, he was dead!

THEN she wished him alive forever, and he came back to life full of embalming fluid, in pain, and unable to die etc...

Soooooooo...... why was THIS man there? What did HE do wrong?  That puzzled me. The others who were there had done bad things; killing their husband, having an affair and leaving their family, driving someone to suicide with a hate campaign, but what did THIS guy do???

And why was he there in the first place, if he couldn't die? Probably best not to think about it.

The first scene from that segment implies he was a ruthless businessman who did some questionable things to get as rich as he was.

The most implausible detail was the way they suddenly noticed (!) the inscription about the three wishes on the base of the statue. After all, it had presumably been in their antiques collection for ages and the inscription was bold and clear. And anyway, if they'd bought it in "that strange little shop in Hong Kong" why on Earth would the inscription be in English??

The way I see it is that perhaps a particular demon (invisible) had his eyes on these people or were sent to watch these people considering how their plans went foul and they died as a result of it. I mean yes, why would the couple suddenly realise that one of their antiques had some strange writing at the base and at the right time too, considering they needed money.Maybe this demon made the writing appear or was even attached to the statue from the very beginning. Maybe the homicidal Santa was a demon as well as Susan from the second segment.

Also, regarding the demon theory, why would a man with a silver shamrock type skull mask be stalking Jason and begin following him right before he had his crash?
