The Peter Cushing Story

Watched it 32 years ago when i was 9..
It gave me full on nightmares back then.
It's still a little uneasy to watch now..

Same here. One thing I've never noticed because of that (too scared) was during the funeral scene it seems they give ol Grismsdyke a decent burial but when he rises from his grave it looks like a pauper's cemetery . Still love it.

reply

It was a year later and they wanted the grave to look neglected.

When I was 8 I watched Puppet Master 2... boy, I regret it until today...
I was so scared of the drill head that I never slept with face up again... and for years I used to put a blanket or the pillow over my head...
.
Then, I re watched it...
.
I laughed so much!!! :D
.
If you don't watch again to see how silly things are, your brain will keep playing on you...

reply

Yep - absolutely.

I feel so sorry for him. He was a genuinely good person who was treated in such a disgusting way for no reason at all. I think it's hard to watch not because it's scary, but because of the foul treatment a good, kind person received. I was close to tears watching that look on his face as he read the cards. A brilliant performance from Peter Cushing.

it was indeed

And the fact that Cushing himself was dealing with his wife's death in real life at the time, making it especially poignant.
