Two of the characters in this were condemned to Hell just because they died in car accidents.True one had been a hard nosed capitalist (who had always paid his debts) and the other had been going to leave his wife and family but was this any reason for eternal damnation? Since this was based on biblical "rules" both these actions are actually condoned (in some parts actually encouraged)how did writers think this would work?(unless it was because cars don't appear in the bible so must be evil)
It was implied Ralph made some shady business deals and screwed people over so he could get to the top. The Bible speaks against greed and says "The love of money is the root of all evil" so that sounds like a good reason for him to go to Hell to me. Also I wouldn't say being cruel and ruthless to others in the name of acquiring material things sounds very Christlike. After all, the Bible also says to lay up your treasures in Heaven rather than Earth.
I also think many would agree that leaving your wife and children to fend for themselves without even informing them you're doing so is a horrible thing to do. Especially since it was only to be with the woman he was cheating with (adultery, against the 10 Commandments). Can you imagine being a child and waking up one day to discover your father is gone and you're never going to see him again? The very least they deserved was an explanation. I don't think any person with morals could ever do such a thing, so I see why he was taken to Hell as well.
