Yeah, the blaxploitation movement was a product of its time and experience. Blaxploitation-style movies can still be made (just like the upcoming absolutely-awesome-looking Black Dynamite) but the true blaxploitation boom was all about the Afro-American scene, clture and socio-political situation of the '60s and '70s.
I'd also say, Dehumanized, that there are loads of charismatic black actors out there. Also, as for making 'good' movies, is Super Fly good? OIt's ultra-amaterish and isn't a very good film, but it's cool and enjoyable for what it is. The modern film industry would never release such a cheap-looking, hastily-made pulped out flick... which is a shame. Everything is too shiny and souped-up to perfection these days...
