Priest vs. Tony Montana

I think that Priest was a way cooler character than Scarface.

Definitely. Tony Montana was a hothead with no class. You could see that it would not end well for him from early on Scarface (which is such an over-rated movie anyway). Priest is way smoother and more intelligent than Montana, and that's why, in the end, he does escape with his life.

Both are good stories. Both characters were poor as children. Both had sketchy family ties or a negative relationship with caregivers. Tony had the disadvantage of being reared in a foreign country and an accent which seemed to make him feel like an alien in America. Tony suffered a dreadful and spectacular downfall whereas Priest, seemingly at least, walked away victorious with the woman he loved by his side. In Miami Tony had to fit in, Priest was at home in NY. They were both wonderfully developed characters with flaws and deeply motivated desires. And, in my opinion, equally interesting and fearless!

Priest was funky as could be, defintley a lot of wanna-be's today can only hope to be half as cool as Superfly.
