Too long??? Both of you are crazy! It was a beautiful, sensuous, sexual "black" love scene, one of the best ever to grace the screen. I've heard many things about this scene, but never that it was too long. No disrespect, but both of you are crazy!

Youngsters these days! Two good looking people in a sudsy tub, making love as Curtis Mayfield sings in the background adding more heat. Emphasised that Priest was with his main lady,and was more than just slam bam wash up ma'am type.

Yes it was a bit too long and could have had a few more distance shots. After about 30 seconds I found myself turning to the remote's info button or any TV/DVD function to play with in order to seem less voyeuristic. It wasn't that revealing it was just, well... too long as most have said. Though to argue the other way, the Curtis track had a decent play.

inthe trivia it states that there was only 45 pages of dialog so the had to fill the movie with long shots of non-dialog crap. faces,walking,driving etc.

You are lost man - a lousy observer and too much of a prude not seeing true art when it comes along. It is a thing of beauty. Much fresher than the modern sex scenes we see today - which is too up tight - weird and hostile to anything nude and real. I agree with all the others before this, celebrating this scene.
