Is there a machine gun used in this movie?

Yes, it's a Smith & Wesson M76. Marvin pulls it out of a case and jungle tapes the mags for it but doesn't attach the wire stock.
He uses it to good effect against the prarie boys armed with double barreled shot guns.

I'd like to ad that you can still buy these guns. While theoriginal S&W m76 runs over 10,000 dollars. in the 1980's Mk Arms made the MK760, in full auto, and semi auto with a 16 inch barrel. the fullauto sells for around 7,ooo, and the semi less than 1,000 dollars. atf approval is necessary to buy the full auto guns. but the semi can br bought in most states that do not restrict hi capacity guns.
