6.8?!
Are you kidding me? This film was trash, pure and simple. A free brain scan to anyone who admits to voting this 10. Dear oh dear..

shareYou're nuts, this is an awesome movie. An 8/10 for me. Lee Marvin was the ultimate hard man and his slow burn approach to the role is perfect in this film. There is no one like Marvin working in film today - the guy was a one of a kind. This film is so beautifully perverse and fascinating at the same time. It's an old school crime film that permeates you in the world and is more about grit and texture than storyline. And Lalo Schifrin's score is one of his finest and still sadly unavailable.

Well, you're entitled to your opinion, but.. you're wrong. Thank you and goodnight now..
"This film was trash, pure and simple."
Trash is never pure, and rarely simple. I would not call PC a good movie, but I enjoy it because it is so outrageous.
6.8 was a bit higher than I was expecting to see it rated. I'm a generous rater but even I'd only give it a 5 or 6.
Conform or be cast out
for the hell of it i rate it 9*
for the total pure simple trash audacity of it;
for the no-rules early 70s
for the early full-on DirtyHarry style action
for Sissy's fine acting
for Lee cool acting
for always a mean-ass Hackman
for the mad idea scenes - like the Harvester
for all the mad meat themes and sausage chewing & opening title sequence
for the demented nonPC perversion
for the cool cars
for the reason that it is just too far out-there for any modern Director or Studio to make today,
[even Tarantino has to resort to ott carry-on/ or comedy in order to pull similar off. ]
so, OP, toss off /or reason-up - before you insult
I’d give it a 7 or 8.
