is the scene i'm thinking of in Play It Again, Sam?
There's this scene from an early Allen movie that I can't get out of my mind, and I can't remember which movie, but I think it's Play It Again. Our hero has just had an argument or been dumped by yet another broad and is driving a car in L.A. He goes through a stop sign or speeding trap and gets pulled over. He's very compliant, though somewhat distracted, as he gets the citation. Then, explaining to the cop that he is passive-aggressive and smiling nervously, he rips the ticket into confetti and tosses it aloft right under the cop's nose. It's this wonderful, neurotic moment of rebellion by a guy who can't bring himself to be rude. Is it in this film? Anybody know the actual lines? Thanks.
