Has anyone else participated in a production of this play?

Some years ago, my former wife and I had the good fortune to appear in a community theater production of "Play it Again, Sam." She played "Sharon Lake," and I played "Bogart."

I pretty much drove her crazy watching old Bogie movies on the Betamax (that tells you how long ago it was). I also listened to Bogie performances on radio dramas that had been transcribed to cassette.

Has anyone else participated in a production of PIAS? If so, I hope you had as much fun as we did.

that is a very cool idea about conspiracy. it might even be more powerful as a play.

I currently am in a production of this play, playing Bogart. I look about as much like Bogart as he looks like Robert Redford, though. LOL With a hat, nobody'll notice too much.

I hear you. I, too, do not resemble Bogie, but the hat, trenchcoat, and cigarette can work wonders. I had a lady remark "You even walk like Bogie!" I was not aware of working on a particular walk--I was concentrating on the voice.

Break a leg! Let us know how it goes.

Since my real signature is usually illegible, I'll put this here.

I have just been offered the position of Sound Designer in a local community theatre production. I look forward to going through all the music of that period and finding other sounds to create the atmospheric soundscape.

I played Alan in a production of this play recently. I enjoyed it, but I purposely decided not to watch this movie, (or any Woody Alan movies for that matter) until after the show finished. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to help myself from copying him.

I just played the role of Alan this past November! My director had asked me to watch the movie... as a rule, I tend NOT to do this. I watched it... and, then, we kinda worked on the character so I wouldn't just be doing an imitation of Woody Allen. It's like when I watched the movie "Celebrity"... I tend to like anything Kenneth Branaugh does, but I couldn't stand him in that movie because it seemed like he was trying too hard to be Woody Allen. All I could think was, "Why didn't he just cast himself?????"

i played the Role of Alan in my highschool production back in 1983...and u know who played opposite me? an actress who went on to win an Oscar starring in Mighty Aphrodite....Mira Sorvino! how wild is that!???
