When the thugs smacked Allan a few times she really did start screaming, just to get them to stop. Then she probably argued with them, becoming more of the focus of their converstaion.
Allan probably just stood there bleeding trying to decide if she should get involved. Probably watched his date getting more and more comfortable and flirtatious with her former aggressors.
Eventually he just walked back to his car and drove away. Nobody from the bar probably noticed his exit.
