What is with the way this kid runs?

Um, like the topic says. What the hell is up with the way Niles runs?

He spends half the movie running from one place to the other, and he's ALWAYS doing this crazy waddling thing with his legs getting all twisty while his torso is hunched forth like he's about to tackle someone. It is really distracting to me -- I think the movie is pretty creepy, but thinking this kid is about to trip and get a mouthful of dirt just takes me right out of it.

Anyone else bothered by it?

Niles runs like he's completely distracted or trying not to run into 'someone else' (any guesses who?) Maybe it's the only hint that things ain't what they seem before the big...unveiling.

hahah what a funny topic..even as a kid when i first saw this movie i noticed his spastic running style. i thought that's just how boys run when they're excited. hahaha

He usually had that big, bulky tin in his pocket that rattled around as he ran (ring and finger hitting the edges). Perhaps that affected how he ran.
