The Mechanic 2011

Bronson as The Mechanic was amazing. I really love the new film too. Anyone else see it? I thought Jason Statham was the perfect in the role. It was cool to see a Mechanic at work with today's technology.

Great compilation I found from the new film: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=07UAb2l20bI

And fyi, the new film just came out on DVD & Blu-ray: http://amzn.to/klii

I saw it. I thought the new one kinda sucked, especially in comparison to the original.

The new one is terrible.

I liked the new one.
But after watching the original, I like the original just a little bit more than the new one. :-)

I just rewatched the original after seeing the Straitham one. I remembered being delighted by the original, mainly because Jan Michael Vincent made it so easy to hate his character. The new Steve is way too Millennial and vanilla to be a good bad guy, but JMV had a cockiness about him that was also stupid, so at the end, I was happy that Bronson was one step ahead (or many steps, actually) and blew the brat up. Other than that, was surprised at how wooden the acting was, both by JMV and Jill Ireland. I love Bronson's Polish woodeness, though, so his acting is fine and dandy, thank you very much. (would love to see Bronson and Eastwood in a slit-eyed contest...)

Bronson wasn't Polish. His parents were Lithuanian.

the remake was absolute garbage for me.
I'm sad they even touched it
they should've named it the septic system mechanic
