The most entertaining Western?

Man I know we've seen them all. We are all fans of all of Eastwood's westerns. I'm not gonna list a top ten westerns of all time and include all the westerns that everyone here has watched and loves. All I'm going to say is this movie is the most entertaining to watch. Whether its by yourself or if you are itching to get your friends to try it out.

From the beautiful scenery (so colorful), to the wonderful acting (just look at the cast). And then there is the expertly written script! Oh, how about the soundtrack. The soundtrack alone is enough to enjoy the scenes. I still to this day, will watch every second with pure joy (and I've watched this one about 20 times). Whenever I flip through the TV and come across Joe Kidd, it stays on.

This is the most entertaining Western ever for me. The one that I could not do without on a stranded island.

Cheers!

You know, it would be hard to argue with you.

I like the way that so little of this movie is predictable. I mean, from the unlikely costumes and weaponry, to the strange plot twists, to the wriggly ways that Clint gets himself into and out of trouble. Got to love the climbing the ladder, and waiting for the guy to step just right before swinging the trapdoor open ...to the swinging the water jug wider and wider and then clonking the guy on the head ... the sniper vs. sniper scene in a western... the whacky and short train ride...

It has been a couple months now since I saw this movie for the first time, and it is still in my head; this despite having watched several other Clint Eastwood westerns in the meantime.

Yep, it would be hard to argue with you.

I won't argue either! I love this movie and just like you when I see it on I watch it! Everything you said about it is right on the mark! VERY ENJOYABLE!

Not my most favorite Eastwood western of course, but yeah I really dig this movie. Eastwood was great, and the supporting cast was also fun to watch. One of my favorite bits is Naco meeting Kidd again in the bar- their little exchange was just wacky.

If he hadn't made The Outlaw Josey Wales or Unforgiven,I would tend to agree w/ all on this thread.

No offense...but your style of writing makes reading even that more difficult
