This is the DVD version you should buy !!

For many years now, I've purchased and owned numerous versions of "The Chinese Connection" aka "Fist Of Fury" on VHS, LD and DVD....however I think I've come across the finest example of them all. Media Asia have released a Special Collectors Edition DVD that is just jammed full of fantastic features. First off, it's a digitally remastered razor sharp print in 2.25:1 Anamorphic Widescreen, secondly the soundtrack is presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 Audio for BOTH the dubbed English language version, plus it includes the original Cantonese soundtrack...WOW....those kicks and punches now reverberate through my surround sound system with real cracks and thuds.

( Most other versions are only Dolby Digital 2.0 mono, like the one on Amazon.com with the red tinted cover ! )

There's also a wonderful audio commentary by martial arts practitioner and cinema guru, Bey Logan, which is both informative and entertaining, an animated biography showcase, the HK & UK theatrical trailers, and four photo galleries. Plus to cap it all off, there are recent interviews with two of Bruce Lee' s co-stars from "The Chinese Connection" aka "Fist of Fury", Tony Liu and Max Lee. To the best of my knowledge, this version is only available in Region 2 and Region 4 DVD, however that's no issue if you have a multi zone DVD player. So, if you want to see Bruce Lee's finest film, in its best presentation to date, then definitely hunt down this DVD release...its worth every cent !

Yup, this is the DVD that's just been released in Australia and New Zealand (R4) under the 'Hong Kong Legends' banner. It's a joy to behold after the horrid videocassette versions we've had to put up with for years. I'm looking forward to the other R4 Bruce Lee DVDs which are scheduled to be released here during 2005.

Hey Flicker-26,

Not too sure if you have heard....however, they are also releasing the Hong Kong Legends remasters of "The Big Boss" and a Platinum two disc version of "Way Of The Dragon" in Australia (region 4) before the end of May 2005.

Check out this indepth review on the HK Legends remastered two disc "Way Of The Dragon" DVD.

... and Game of Death in July. :) But I'm in New Zealand, so we're probably a month or two behind the Australian release dates - and a year or two behind the rest of the world. Thanks for the link!

Heh, just noticed something odd about the audio on this DVD. Petrov's line "Let me take care of him" is actually Bruce Lee's (dubbed) voice in both the Cantonese AND English versions. Seems like they mixed up the audio tracks for this section of the DVD.

Is this HKL DVD of Fist of Fury uncut? I mean does it run all the 110 minutes? I mean I alway thought I had an uncut version of the film. I have the Deltamac version which runs 102 minutes. I found out now that the director's cut runs 110 minutes, so I was shocked.
Could some one please tell me where else to buy HKL DVDs than through their own website? Cause I'm German and you don't get credit cards that easily over here. Is there any other possibility you can think of?
