dont like bruce lee's fighting style

its more like an arrogant rather than nicely choreographed action duals which modern day martial art movies show.
he is the only man hitting the others. they just come forward to him to get the beating.
he just throws around punches and kicks but wheres the defense???
watched IP man the other day and liked it very much.
i am not interested in Bruce lee now.

You are an idiot, and my prob just a kid! I love ip man too, and how many times did he get hit? erm, hardly any, apart from the last fight. So, what you are saying does not make sense :/ In every film bruce lee has been hit, so why are you trolling?

reply

Having fun trolling?

Respect the blue hedgehog or I'll be at your house with to kill you. ...lol

...And Bruce Lee fans don't like trolls. What's your point ?

cool story, bro

It's jeet kune do...you are supposed to hit first by intercepting the opponent's attack, though real jkd doesn't use all those high spin kicks.

Umm, he always gets hit in the final fight scenes. The knife wound to the leg in Big Boss, the claw scars in Enter the Dragon, and pretty much the entire pagoda scenes in Game of Death.

Bruce Lee's style is called 'Way of the Intercepting Fist'. Basically means block and or hit the guy before you get hit. Bruce being the creator of it, if he is doing two minute choreographed fight scenes he is not doing his style justice.

Have you actually seen Bruce train or anyone train using his real techniques? JKD or Wing Chun looks boring but is very effective. He trained for survival and not for fighting in the ring with rules. He taught his students to end fights quickly. A quick kick to the groin or eye jabs; whatever is effective at the moment. Whatever will take your opponent down fast without you getting hurt. The stuff you see on screen is just flashy stuff that looks good on screen. He mentions this in "The Lost Interview"

The book Bruce Lee's Fighting shows some of the techniques he does, and most of it aims at the groin or eye. Lee often said that schools teach you things in so many steps to get the same result, when you get the same result in less moves.
