Narrator

Who is the narrator in the beginning of the movie?

reply

I think it may have been Tim McIntire, the guy who sings the "Jeremiah Johnson" song at the beginning.

If I'm wrong, somebody please correct me. I'm curious about that as well.

"You have a freak flag ... you just don't fly it."

I have yet to find out who sings the song or what the name of the song is all the way threw the movie.I do not know if it is Tim McEntire or who it is.That has been question for me since the movie came out when I was 14.Believe me nobody has seen this movie more than I have(lol).

Tim McIntire, actor and singer, did indeed provide narration as well as sing the Jeremiah Johnson theme song and other incidental songs throughout the movie. Sadly, Tim died at the age of 43. For those who loved this movie, this, too, is one of my all-time favorites; a true classic that has aged well these past three decades.

Tim McIntire was the son of veteran actors John McIntire (Psycho, The Far Country, Wagon Train) and Jeanette Nolan (The Big Heat.)

He was a beefy, pleasant-faced guy (who looked a LITTLE like his dad) who acted a little as well as sang. I liked him on screen as "Roscoe Rules," the nastiest of the cops in "The Choirboys" (1977). Reportedly, drugs got him.

I agree Ecarle.
I love bear men and he certainly delivered.
GREAT butt shot in that movie too.
He was also the secondary male lead in The Sterile Cuckoo and looked just as fine in it.
