Once again IMDB reviewers consistently rate movies either too high or low. This movie deserved more than a 7.5. I see such total generic crap Hollywood formulaic movies on here that get 7.5 or even 8! Just confirms my belief that many of the IMDB raters are clueless teenagers.

I tend to agree with you as when this movie first came out I was a young man who loved Bond movies, WWII movies etc., and I did not have any appreciation for this movie. Every year that goes by though I love this movie more and more. Today its right up there on my all time greatest list. Why people like or dis like certain movies is so subjective. We all grow and change. The same younger crowd that rates this a 7.5 may some day give it a much higher rating. Unfortunately the crowd starts thinning out by my age so that 'vote' gets diluted a tad LOL !
There are so many kids out there today being brain washed that all Euros of that time where pure evil and the only ones capable of violence etc.
The earth belongs to both mankind and the animal kingdom as well. Animals roam as do humans. Just because a people are 'indigenous' didn't mean they had exclusive rights to a continent. It would have been nice if all peoples could come together and live in peace/harmony but hey, to date, this is not the way of the world. The clash of cultures still goes on today. Hmmm, that doesn't sum it up either as, IMHO, the last two men on the planet,if they were forced to share the same space, would eventually find something to argue about !

Good point. I wish IMDB had a minimum required age to join. It's pathetic to see the discussion board for lots of trash movies like "Fast and Furious" you will invariably see these teenage morons who post, "OMG best movie ever! 10!"
So they are seriously over-rating the movie giving it 10s.
