Why doesn't the Hallmark Channel air this?
Wasn't it a Hallmark Hall of fame show?
shareGood question. And for those who don't receive the Hallmark Channel, why aren't various other channels airing it this time of year? It's not like it would be expensive for them. I was ten years old in 1972, and I probably haven't seen this since then.
shareIt wasn't a Hallmark Hall of Fame presentation. It was just a Christmas special aired on CBS.
I agree that it should be out on DVD. In fact, all four Addie Mills stories should be out on DVD.
This was on for several years in a row when I was a kid. I know it is on video because I rented it once to watch with my niece. It is one of those great tear inducing Christmas specials. I'd love to see it again.

I've sought out this movie periodically over the years. I was 11 when this was released and remember this as an endearing favorite. Now I see this on ebay - both in VHS and DVD format. When was this movie released in either form?? I'm disappointed that it's not readily available.

i sure hope this airs once in 2011. I loved this one and I was 11 when this first came on.
It would be nice to see this on TV along with the Homecoming Walton Christmas. Both are on DVD, but it would be nice to see it shown for other generations.
Come on, Franklin! It'll be a fun trip!
Wow I am the 4th person on this thread that was 11 when this came on. Well one person was 10 but we are all were in the same age range when it came on and I remember it too.
shareI was 11 when it first came on and remember it fondly. I just don't know why it isn't shown on some channel. All these channels and not one shows it? Why?
shareAnswer to old question, but...
...no, not Hall of Fame. CBS produced this.
Not to mention the Hallmark Channel is too busy showing those getting-a-husband-for-Christmas movies they play over and over again at Christmastime.
shareOhmsLaw, I was thinking the exact same thing. I enjoy the Hallmark and Netflix Christmas movies, but none of them can hold a candle to the raw emotion The House Without a Christmas Tree touches on.
shareYes, those movies are awful. Women think that is real life. lol
shareAnti-tree propaganda, you Grinchers ought to be ashamed of yourselves!
