Spiritual sequels to The House Without A Christmas Tree

There is a 1989 Christmas film called Prancer and it has a 2001 sequel called Prancer Returns. I consider these films to be the spiritual sequels to The House Without A Christmas Tree.

There is a reindeer in both films but otherwise The House Without A Christmas Tree is very similar to Prancer and to a lesser extent Prancer Returns.

The entire Prancer film is on Youtube. Here is a link to it:

You should watch these films, they are two of the greatest films I've ever seen! Who here has seen them? O:-)

I agree that the Prancer films are both excellent Christmas movies. Thank you for reminding me of these movies as I had forgotten about them. Maybe I will rewatch them this Christmas season. I have never seen The House Without a Christmas Tree, but plan to watch it for the first time tonight.

Check out the IMDB forums for those two films. All three films are great! What did you think of The House Without A Christmas Tree?

I'm a retired fourth grade teacher and for many years I'd read The House Without a Christmas Tree along with The Thanksgiving Treasure to my kids around those holiday times. They loved them. There was also a book by the same author and same characters called A Dream for Addie that took place around Easter. Those books along with certain Judy Blume books were their favorites. There would always be a run at our school library and the public one for copies of the books so the kids could follow along. I tried to read to them everyday either after lunch or before dismissal time. Unfortunately, the last few years before I retired after 32 years, there was hardly any time left for that activity due to to all the ridiculous testing and review that went along with "No Child Left Behind". I hear it has gotten even more insane since I left. I loved teaching until that program just "sucked" all the pleasure out of teaching! So sad.

That's great that you read the books! I checked out the Wikipedia article and there are three other films with these same characters and there are books as well. I don't know much about that teaching program but hopefully things go well in the future. This is a great movie! :-)
