"Don't Get Fat Mixed-up With Stupid"
I've wondered for years about the meaning of this phrase. It's not a colloquialism that I've heard, but it feels familiar. Can anyone clarify it?

shareI think it just meant, "I might LOOK stupid to you, but I guarantee you that I'm not".
shareSo the Sheriff makes this statement in response to Clint's objection, "I'm not a gunfighter," though the Sheriff, and everyone else in town, have seen Clint's remarkable gun-handling proficiency. Hmm... But Clint may simply not provide his gun proficiency for hire. Right...so we follow into the street where the Sheriff makes his subsequent offer of "everything." Okay.
Thanks, ck1-5.
He says "Don't get facts mixed up with stupid". The script is on the internet.
