Why are women fighting for the right to be in combat? You are diminishing women by treating them like they are the weaker gender. You should be standing up for the weak, period. Just like I know plenty of women that are stronger than some men. Even if you go back to ancient times, the Norse women were some of the best warriors and women were treated as equals. This notion that women are weak pathetic creatures that must have special protection is antiquated. Now, of course the strong should defend the weak and of course rape is wrong but to write off a film simply because it displays an awful act like rape is biased. If you are against rape on film then you should be against violence on film. Which pretty much leaves you watching G-rated films.

I just saw this movie for a first time. Exactly as I predicted, threads complaining about "rape". What I saw at the beginning of that movie was most certainly NOT rape. The woman was a nutjob who was basically begging for it. Hell, she wouldn't even let The Drifter go away even after he decided to be patient with her at first. Clearly this was her whacked out mating ritual and he recognized it immediately. He even commented that she doesn't need to behave like that if she wants to get acquainted.
Of course stupidity of a lot of young people is that they keep applying moral standards to nowadays to what they see depicted in movies portraying old times.
