Johnny Depp Millenials Are Searching For Mistakes in The Godfather
They just CANNOT BELIEVE this movie is more popular than anything J Depp has done, or Leo, or any of their current heroes.
Must... FIND... MISTAKES!!!!!

There's no such thing as Johnny Depp millenials his fans have always been genXers.

Johnny Depp is an old fart to Millennials. Orlando Bloom is about as old as most of them like, LOL
shareJust saying Johnny Depp only is popular with millenials cause of Pirates of the Caribbean but otherwise Gen Xer's are the ones who have watched most of his movies me being one of them.
shareWho do you categorize as Gen X and who are Millennials?
I sometimes feel I want to be snooty and call someone a Millennial as an insult but what stops me is the fear others may consider me a Millennial too. Lol.
I consider myself a cusper, stuck between those 2 generations.
Gen X: born 64/65 - 79/80
Millennial or Gen Y: 80/81 - 95/96
I don't know much about Johnny Depp, and he's dorky as hell... but I gotta say he was perfect in POTC.
shareWho are the millenials supposed to be anyway? Are those who were teens in the 90's supposed to belong to the same demographic category than those who're younger than the Internet?
Darth Vader is scary and I The Godfather
The first group of millenials were born in 1985 and 90's teens are the last group of gen Xers
shareWell, I guess I'm an in-betweener, born in '82, I can relate to both generations depending on the subjects, but I'm lucky enough to have discovered the film long before the Internet, I didn't need to know that it was "one of the greatest American movies of all time" or any other ranking to cloud or influence my judgement, except for my Dad telling me it was one of these films I had to see.
Darth Vader is scary and I The Godfather
I can relate to both generations partially as well but not completely.
shareBeing a millennial myself, and being someone who loves this movie, I don't think it's perfect. It should be universally accepted that the Carlo beat down scene is nearly objectively bad. And I don't know how many people agree, but I thought Shire was bad in this. Really really bad. If not for Sophia she'd be the worst in the series. Her whiny tantrums were weak and unconvincing. That being said I do feel the second one is a perfect movie, and a better one too.
Officially Canadian for 27 years. Never heard "aboot."

It seems, in recent years, "millennial" has simply become shorthand for "someone younger than x individual whom x individual does not like." Even the OP to this thread is a straw-man attack. Looking at the majority of the posts on these boards, I see a lot of intelligent, well-thought out discussion-- a rarity for any IMDB page, let alone one for a movie that has drawn such attention. In a few pages of browsing, I didn't see ANY posts looking for holes in the film, let alone one from self-professed millennials. It almost seems as if the whole "millennials are the scum of the earth" thing is a belated revenge by Boomers who never got over the Greatest Generation riding them for rock and roll.
shareI wonder which actor didn't want to come back and reshoot the scene.
shareCaan seems like he'd have more weight to throw around. He's the one who wanted a full movie's salary for one scene in Part II, too, so maybe he was more demanding?
As for the fight itself, the missed punch aside, it's a vicious beat-down and I think it's great.
This movie is pure art :)
Slipknot and My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic fan
Lol, i'm not a Depp fan, nor have i ever really liked the guy. I do like maybe a few of his movies though. However, i am a huge DiCaprio fan, and i think we have to give credit where credit is due, to this film & to DiCaprio and Depp...
shareWho are these Johnny Depp Millenials and where are they searching for mistakes? In the Godfather boards, the only scene that seems to have garnered criticism is Sonny giving a beating to Carlo. And its constructive criticisms.
