The anonymous "author" of this diary is not named Alice. In fact, the name of the teenage girl was never disclosed - that's why it says "Anonymous". There is a character named Alice in the diary, but she is an insignificant acquaintance of the writer.

The character's names in the story are changed anyway. Names of people and places were changed.
sharethank you that was annoying cause i know she doesn't have a name but every where i look every one assumes her name is alice cause of the title the girl in the story is the Narrator and the Narrator doesn't ever have a name.

It has to do with the Jefferson Airplane song "White Rabbit" about Alice in Wonderland.

Hence, go ask alice should be the name of a book/movie about a girl with a drug addiction (even though there is speculation that the girl who wrote the diary never existed and the whole thing was made up). Oh well. Nice tie in to pop culture.
