Is there an Alice in this movie?

I have read this book and I have yet to see the movie. I am looking through the actors and I notice that there is no Alice character. I was wondering if that was at all possible due to the fact that the entire book is the adventures of Alice. Hmm.

Cast overview, first billed only:
William Shatner .... Sam, Alice's Father
Ruth Roman .... Psychiatrist
Wendell Burton .... Joel Clements
Julie Adams .... Dorothy
Andy Griffith .... Priest
Ayn Ruymen .... Jan
Mimi Saffian .... Beth Bonds
Jennifer Edwards .... Chris
Jamie Smith-Jackson .... Alice
Daniel Michael Mann .... Richie
Frederick Herrick .... Ted
Robert Carradine .... Bill
Michael Morgan .... Tim
Gary Marsh .... Tom
Mackenzie Phillips .... Doris

The main character shoulf be listed first in the credits for a 30 year old movie , even if the actress is unknown IMO...

No, there is not. The title comes from the Jefferson Airplane song "White Rabbit", Alice is Alice in Wonderland.

reply

opps sorry but stillif you chek the book they will never call her alice

reply

The title was taken from the song "White Rabbit" by Grace Slick. And if you've read the book enough you'll remember, that in one of her entries she says, quote "I feel like Alice in Wonderland" The person who the diary belonged to is anonymous, which is says right under the title on the book cover.

reply

Also doesn't she meet a girl named Alice?

yah she meets a girl in the book, named alice

reply

I might be crazy, but her reasons and her details kind of reminded me of the owner of the Diary. Well The Alice in the Wonderland thing is a freaky thing, i also thing that is as well too

They never say the main character's name is Alice, she remains nameless through out the book.

Like "this_years_girl" was saying, it's not about a character; it's a song. It refers to Alice in Wonderland. The song called "White Rabbit" goes like this:

One pill makes you larger
And one pill makes you small
And the ones that mother gives you
Don't do anything at all
Go ask Alice
When she's ten feet tall

It refers to drugs.

So again... Alice. Not a real person. When the book was actually published, this song was well known (Grace Slick/Jefferson Airplane).

In the book they never call her Alice and she meets a girl named Alice.

In the movie the main character is really called Alice and she doesn't meet a girl named Alice...

Yay someone who knows what they are talking about! She is never referred to as alice, and I doubt very much thats her name is alice, because when you meet someone with the same name as you and you talk about them, you'd normally say something like "her/his name is ? too" or "as well" but she lists alice along with the other people she meets in that time...

Actually, in the movie, she is called Alice several times. In the book she is not explicitly named but implied that her name is Carla.
