another gargoyles movie

There was another movie with very awsome gargoyles in it show on tv in the late 60's early 70's....have never found it.....this crappy film is NOT it. Anybody have info?

Yes there was, but like you or anyone else in this board...nobody knows the title!

I saw both movies back as a kid in the early 80's. This movie "Gargoyles" (1972) sucks. There definitely was another gargoyle flick which was much more realistic and frightening. Damn, I wish we could remember what it was called.

Spent hours searching through Google last night and no leads. This is so damned irritating!

The movie I recall had a castle (or maybe it was actually a more modern gothic-style stone building). During the day, the gargoyles were stone statues. When night fell they re-animated. One of the gargoyle characters was polite with a timid personality. The costumes/effects were awesome compared to this Gargoyles (1972) tripe.

Can't believe that the better gargoyle movie we remember has fallen through the cracks of nostalgic popularity! Think people..think!!

I think its a fun movie.

I think you folks are conflating your memories with the 1994 animated series.

It's the only one that fits what you've all been describing.

In 1972, I was eight years old, and this film genuinely scared me. I didn't see it again until the DVD came out, a span of some 30 years. Memory does funny things to films, and stuff you might have cherished as a child never looks the same to adult eyes.

are you sure your not thinking of " At the Earths Core "?

This was mentioned in another thread and I certainly don't recall another film with Gargoyles prior to the Disney cartoon (not counting an episode of the '70s cartoon "Clue Club"). But you might try describing it to someone at Kindertrauma -- they have a knack for tracking down the names of obscure '70s and '80s horror movies.

I think the film you're looking for is the 1962 movie called "Night Of The Eagle" aka "Burn Witch Burn" staring Peter Wyngarde & Janet Blair.Towards the end of the movie a giant stone Eagle comes to life and in one scene smashes through a door and attacks Norman Taylor(Peter Wyngarde).I've just watched the full movie on YT
