When o' when will their be a remake of this classic..

I am surprised that their is not a remake in the works for this classic movie. With the special effects makeup (no CGI ) of these days and big budget it could be a great remake. Use the same basic story line and go futher. What do you think? Has anybody ever heard of anything?

I hope the answer is never, as it's pretty much perfect as is.

(Although there is specualtion that the film Jeepers Creepers draws considerable inspiration from Gargoyles for The Creeper, so that might be considered a remake of sorts).

DITTO! Please Hollywood don't remake this classic. All you will do is muck it up with a lot of CGI. You know the saying if it ain't broke ....

Hey hear what you guys are saying, but I originally posted (NO CGI). Lets get good'ole Rob Bottin to do some awesome creature effects and remake it!

If, and that is a very big word when it comes to this movie, there is a remake. I agree with the poster that said Tom Savini should do the special effects. I think the only thing wrong with the original was the ending. It seemed rather rushed. But with the right director (perhaps John Carpenter) a remake might not be too bad. Possible it could be done as more of a homage.

While a good remake of this would be welcome,
we all know what we're most likely going to get:
a horrible syfy original movie loaded with romanian
actors and pathetic cgi...

Alas, you are probably right. There was talk several years ago about a sequel with Wesley Snipes (?!) in it. I'm very glad that didn't come to pass.

I'm kind of surprised a remake hasn't been made already. It seems like the remake craze is dying down so I doubt there is going to be one.

Interesting you say "no CGI". There's no way they're not gonna have tons of that if they remake this. I sure hope they do NOT remake it.
