"FatCity" on TCM tonight. I missed seeing this excellent movie again.
Susan died last night, June 17, 2012.
Her scenes as an alcoholic in Fat City" are outstanding. The only
comparable male alcoholic character was Ray Milland in "The Lost Weekend".
Susan had a weird but fascinating personality in "Fat City". As a psychiatrist
and movie buff: I'll miss you SuSu.
I DVR'ed it and saw it for the first time last night. Wow. Her acting was so great.

Susan Tyrrell's Rotten Memorial will be held at the Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar at 7pm on Thursday, June 28, 2012. "Fat City" will be screened, followed by a bombardment of joyous memories, music, and more. Come join us in the gutter for unbridled irreverence and share a toast with Susu's Ghost.
BTW, this is in Austin where i live. Sounds like a fitting memorial.
I just saw the movie tonight for the first time. She gave a great performance in the role of Oma. A shame to know that she died! :(
