Terry-Thomas

He came back as Lombardo the Shipping Agent after being drained dry of his blood as Dr Longstreet in the 1st movie, lol.

...a little fantastic, and fleeting, and out of reach.

Many of the returning actors were playing different characters.

I imagine in that lovely alternate universe where more were made it would be part of the idiom of the series.

How many exactly ?

I only noticed two. Terry-Thomas as Longstreet and Lombardo, and Hugh Griffith, who played Ambrose in the sequel and the consulting rabbi in the original.

Yeah, I like to think Terry-Thomas would've played yet another character had the third film come to pass.
