Give It a Look On Blu-ray
I just watched THE COWBOYS for the umpteen time, only this time in Blu-ray DVD.. Not only is the picture awesome, John Williams magnificent music score sounds better than ever, too.
The opening ranch scenes were filmed on a private ranch south of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and the mountain scenes were shot north of Pagosa Springs, Colorado.
It's true that both Bruce Dern and Mark Rydell were not looking forward to working with John Wayne, but both had no trouble admitting how wrong they were, and what a great guy Wayne was to work with.
