The dream of the soldier

This is one of the most moving scene ever made...
I love this film... and Buñuel was... great...

Where are you, Mother...?
I seek you among the shadows...
Mother...

I went off in search of my mother... but the street was full of shadows... and no one responded...

I'm Winston Wolf, I solve problems

And no dream is ever... just a dream...

First time I saw this movie I thought that scene was not particulary interesting in this film.

BUT

Now I viewed the movie for the second time and I really have to agree with you. Could be one of the most beautiful scenes I've ever seen in a movie.

What touches me is the ideal of afterlife, where you would meet, for example, your mother again and some former friends (everyone would appear to be in their "best age"), but still you are somewhat lost (like we are in this life). A busy street (with no visible passangers) is something that I find a very interesting description of afterlife (I think we have no further knowledge, right?).

Third viewing, this evening, I found the scene very moving for the first time.
